View PostWorld Mental Health Day Mental health is the foundation of a healthy life, both at home and in every community, including schools. Today, we observe World Mental Health Day, a time to reflect on how we care for ourselves and for one another. This year's theme, "Access to Services Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies," reminds us that support must be available not just in clinics or hospitals, but also in the places we live and learn. At home, open conversations and emotional support can make all the difference. In schools, creating safe, inclusive environments helps young people thrive - especially during times of stress or crisis. In our communities, we must ensure that mental health care is accessible to everyone, everywhere especially in emergencies. Let's continue to: Break the stigma Support mental well-being in every space Advocate for services that reach those who need them most Because mental health is a right - not a privilege. #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealthMatters #AccessToCare #SupportAtHome #SupportInSchools #WMHD2025 #gosforthgroup #gosforthjuniorhighacademy

With curiosity and critical thinking, they asked: What was this used for? What does it tell us about life during the war? View PostWe've earned the RHS Level 3 Gardening Award! Thanks to the dedication of our Gardening Club and students involved in garden interventions, we've reached a new milestone in sustainable gardening. By gaining the Level 3 award, we have been awarded a certificate, a £50 gardening voucher, a book on wild gardening and some seeds for next spring from the RHS. The Level 3 award recognises that our students can identify and look after a range of plants in the garden. Students have identified and tried edible flowers, noticing that a nasturtium is peppery in taste. The group had a bean picnic in the summer with broad beans grown in our school garden. They also grew carrots, which they took home to share with their family. Special shoutout to Emily Barker (Yr 8) for growing the biggest beetroot we've ever seen! We're now working towards Level 4 - and hoping for pumpkins big enough to carve soon! #SchoolGardening #RHSLevel3 #SustainableSchools #StudentSuccess #GardeningClub #gosforthjuniorhighacademy #CreatingFutures #GosforthGroup
