Gosforth Junior High Academy is a vibrant, inclusive, and forward-thinking school community, dedicated to nurturing the potential of every student in Years 5 to 8. Our mission is to provide a high-quality education that inspires academic achievement, personal growth, and confident preparation for the next stage of learning.
We are proud to be a member of Gosforth Group, a family of schools united by a shared commitment to excellence, collaboration, and 'Creating Futures'. This partnership strengthens our ability to deliver an outstanding education and ensures our students benefit from a broad network of support and opportunity.
Student Success Spotlight We are incredibly proud to celebrate Jacob, a student at Gosforth Junior High and a member of the Newcastle Schools U13s team, who recently lifted the District Cup! Playing at the heart of the defense in the final, Jacob's performance was nothing short of outstanding. His vital role helped secure the win and showed just how important teamwork, focus, and resilience are on the big stage. Throughout the season, Jacob has demonstrated exceptional commitment, a positive attitude, and real determination, qualities that truly reflect our academy values both on and off the pitch. Keep striving, Jacob. Your hard work is paying off, and this is just the beginning! #StudentSuccess #ProudMoment #JuniorHighAcademy #Teamwork #Determination #DistrictChampions
View PostCreating Futures in Action! Year 6A have been diving into their geography learning, exploring coastal erosion and how caves, arches, stacks and stumps are formed. They confidently learned key vocabulary and definitions, building their very own coast glossary. To show their understanding, pupils got creative with PlayDoh models, then used a vocabulary bullseye to explain each process clearly to a partner – demonstrating teamwork, communication and deep thinking skills. The pupil who scored the most points was crowned the winner! A fantastic example of curiosity, collaboration and handson learning as we continue Creating Futures together. Well done, 6A! #CreatingFutures #GosforthJuniorHighAcademy #gosforthgroup #GeographyInAction #CoastalErosion #HandsOnLearning #BuildingKnowledge

View PostYear 7 Have Also Been Baking Up Some Treats in the Food Tech Room! The classroom has been full of focus (and fantastic smells!) as students worked stepbystep through the process of making blueberry muffins. From careful health and safety practice to confidently following the recipe, they've really impressed us with their independence. Their teamwork was brilliant too, lots of helping hands, problemsolving, and encouragement all around. And of course... the smiles during the taste test said everything we needed to know! Well done, Year 7, a great effort all round. #FoodTechFun #LifeSkill #BakingSkills #YoungCooks #KitchenLearning #gosforthgroup #GosforthJuniorHighAcademy #CreatingFutures
