Our Open Evening is designed for parents, carers and children who are considering joining our Year 5 cohort in September 2027. It is an excellent opportunity to experience our vibrant school community, meet our staff and students, explore our facilities, and discover what makes Gosforth Junior High Academy such a welcoming and successful place to learn.
What to Expect
During your visit, you will have the opportunity to:
- Tour our school and explore our excellent facilities.
- Meet members of our dedicated staff team, including our Year 5 form tutors.
- Visit specialist teaching areas and classrooms in our Key Stage 2 corridor
- Learn about our curriculum, enrichment opportunities and wider school life.
- Discover how we support every child to thrive academically, socially and personally.
- Find out more about the transition into Year 5 and the exciting opportunities available throughout their educational journey.
We want every child to feel excited about their next step in education, and our Open Evening offers a chance to experience first-hand the supportive culture, high expectations and strong sense of community that underpin life at Gosforth Junior High Academy.
School Presentations
Join members of our Senior Leadership Team in the school hall to hear more about life at Gosforth Junior High Academy, our vision for young people, and the admissions process. We will hold two presentations at 4.15pm and 5.00pm, both presentations will cover the same information, providing flexibility for families throughout the evening.

Transition to Year 5
We understand that moving to a new school is an exciting milestone. To help make the transition as smooth and enjoyable as possible, students joining us in September 2027 will have opportunities to become familiar with our school before they start.
Throughout the spring term, prospective students will be invited to take part in Year 5 experience visits, and our Key Stage 2 Leader will visit feeder schools to introduce pupils to life at Gosforth Junior High Academy and answer any questions they may have about making the move to junior school.
