We are dedicated to fostering a nurturing and dynamic learning environment for every student. Our school is equipped with a range of modern facilities designed to support academic excellence, creativity, physical well-being, and social development. Our Library

Our library is a beautifully designed, open-plan space that serves not only as a traditional library but also as a classroom to enhance learning.

It is well-stocked and features 30 laptop computers, providing students with access to the school network, the Internet, and FROG, the Academy's Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Additionally, we offer Braille and audiobooks for those who need them.

The library is open from 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday to Thursday, with slightly earlier closing hours of 3:30pm on Fridays.

Gosforth Junior High Academy Sports Hall

Sports Facilities

Our state-of-the-art leisure and learning facilities feature a large, full-sized sports hall that can be divided into three courts. It boasts a wooden sprung floor and a high ceiling, making it ideal for various sports activities, including badminton, basketball, gymnastics, and trampolining. Outside we have our MUGA and a large grassed sports field for team sports, such as cricket, rounders and football. The field is also used for athletics.

Information and Communication Technology

Our cutting-edge ICT suite is complemented by 90 mobile laptops, organised in six trolleys of 15 laptops each, available for use in classrooms throughout the school.

Design Technology & Art

Our Design and Technology workshop is fully equipped for hard technology instruction. It features workbenches with vices, a vacuum former, a CAD-CAM cutter, a Hegner saw, a Basato band saw, a pedestal disc sander, a pedestal grinder, and a pillar drill.
In our food technology teaching area, you will find specialised work surfaces, including sinks, as well as gas and electric cookers.
Our impressive art room includes a double-drive potter's wheel, a 4.5 cubic foot kiln, a wall extruder, and a damp cabinet for ceramics work.

Science

Three specialist laboratories, complete with work surfaces, built-in sinks, power points, and gas supply, ensure that students have access to all the very best learning opportunities in science.
