The VIARP at Gosforth Junior High Academy is a provision hosted by the school and funded by Newcastle City Council.

Along with Gosforth Academy and Regent Farm First School the school is proud to host an Additionally Resourced Provision for children and young people with a visual impairment. The team at the Junior Academy comprises of a Qualified Teacher of Children with a Visual Impairment (QTVI) and specialist LSAs, with access to a Mobility and Habilitation Specialist and a Technical Support Officer.
As far as possible the children are fully included in all mainstream lessons and activities. Because of extensive and on-going peer awareness programmes, all children and school staff have a greater understanding of people who have differing needs and we are pleased to be a part of the exciting and diverse community that is Gosforth Junior Academy.
